Welding is mainly applied for hard‑facing of valve sealing surfaces, repair welding of casting defects, and structural welding positions required by product design. The selection of welding consumables is related to welding processes. Different consumables are adopted for shielded‑metal arc welding, plasma arc welding, submerged‑arc welding and CO₂ gas‑shielded welding. Requirements for Welders
Valves are pressure‑pipeline components. Welders’ skill levels and welding processes directly affect product quality and safe production. Therefore, strict requirements for welders are of great importance. Welding is a special process in valve manufacturers, which requires special management and control measures covering personnel, equipment, processes and materials. Welders shall pass both theoretical knowledge and practical operation examinations in accordance with Rules for Welder Qualification Examination for Boilers and Pressure Vessels. They can perform welding operations only when holding valid welder qualification certificates.
