‑ Disassembly and overhaul operations shall only be carried out after confirming that the upstream and downstream pipelines of the ball valve have been completely depressurized.
‑ Non‑metallic parts shall be taken out from the cleaning agent immediately after cleaning; long‑time soaking is prohibited.
‑ During assembly, the bolts on flanges shall be tightened symmetrically, step‑by‑step and evenly.
‑ The cleaning agent shall be compatible with rubber parts, plastic parts, metal parts inside the ball valve as well as the working medium (e.g. gas). When the working medium is gas, gasoline may be used to clean metal parts. Non‑metallic parts shall be cleaned with purified water or alcohol.
‑ Each disassembled component of the ball valve may be cleaned by immersion. For metal components with non‑metallic parts still attached, wipe them with a clean fine silk cloth impregnated with cleaning agent (to prevent fiber shedding and adhesion to parts). All grease, dirt, gum deposits, dust and other residues adhering to surfaces shall be removed during cleaning.
‑ Take care not to damage the sealing surfaces of components during disassembly and reassembly of the ball valve, especially for non‑metallic parts. Special tools shall be used when removing O‑rings.
‑ Assembly can be performed only after the cleaning agent on cleaned surfaces has fully evaporated (wiping with cleaning‑agent‑free silk cloth is allowed). Do not leave parts unattended for a long period; otherwise rusting and dust contamination may occur.
‑ New components shall also be thoroughly cleaned before assembly.
‑ Apply grease for lubrication. The grease shall be compatible with the ball valve’s metallic materials, rubber parts, plastic parts and working medium. For gas service, grease such as Special‑221 may be adopted. Apply a thin layer of grease on the surfaces of sealing‑element grooves, rubber seals, as well as the sealing surfaces and friction surfaces of the valve stem.
‑ During assembly, metal debris, fibers, grease (except for the specified lubricant), dust and other impurities or foreign objects must not contaminate, adhere to or remain on component surfaces or enter the valve cavity.
